Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates met with Union Health Minister J P Nadda on Wednesday to discuss the government-Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation partnership in the healthcare industry.
J P Nadda wrote on X about the progress India has made with the Bill Gates Foundation in areas like sanitation, immunization, and maternal health.
During his visit to India today, I had a meeting with Mr. Bill Gates, the founder of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Through our partnership with the Foundation, we talked about the impressive advancements India has made in healthcare, especially in the areas of maternal health, immunization, and sanitation.
“I acknowledged the Foundation’s valuable support in strengthening health systems and driving impactful initiatives,” Nadda stated.
“We look forward to renewing our memorandum of cooperation, furthering our shared commitment to ensuring affordable, accessible and quality healthcare for all the citizens,” he stated.
In an X post following his meeting with Bill Gates, Chandrababu Naidu praised the Bill Gates Foundation’s contribution to the state’s long-term development objective, “Swarna Andhra Pradesh 2047.”

On Wednesday, Bill Gates also went to Parliament, where the Budget Session is currently in progress.
Gates met with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan on Monday. According to Chauhan, the talks included a variety of subjects, such as rural development, food security, and the use of artificial intelligence and machine learning in agriculture.
As stated in a statement, “The Gates Foundation has been working with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, and we are planning new areas of cooperation,” Shivraj Singh Chauhan said.
