BJP Slams Tamil Nadu CM Stalin’s ‘LKG’ Remark as ‘Delusional’ Amid NEP and Hindi Language Controversy

The Tamil Nadu chief minister was criticized by BJP state chief K Annamalai on Friday for “swinging” his “paper word against the delusional Hindi imposition.”

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) alliance are engaged in a bitter political slugfest over the ongoing controversy surrounding the alleged imposition of a third language under Tamil Nadu’s National Education Policy (NEP).

MK Stalin was criticized by BJP state chief K Annamalai for “swinging” his “paper word against the delusional Hindi imposition” on Friday, while Union home minister Amit Shah asked Stalin to start engineering and medical education in Tamil in the state.

Following remarks by Tamil Nadu chief minister Stalin that compared the NEP to “an LKG student lecturing a PhD holder,” Amit Shah and Annamalai said that Tamil Nadu had already accomplished many of the policy’s objectives.

Amit Shah, who was addressing the chief minister about the language issue, claimed that the Narendra Modi administration had made adjustments and now made sure that CISF candidates could take the test in their native tongues.

The home minister was quoted by news agency PTI as saying, “Now the PM Narendra Modi government has ensured that the exam can be written in Tamil too,” during the 56th Raising Day of the CISF at RTC Thakkolam in Ranipet, which is roughly 70 kilometers from Chennai.

“I appeal to the Tamil Nadu chief minister to start the engineering and medical education in Tamil in the state for the benefit of students,” Amit Shah added.

“Imposition of delusions in Hindi”

According to BJP state chief K Annamalai, Tamil Nadu residents have shown a great deal of support for his party’s pro-NEP signature drive. “Thiru MK Stalin, our on-ground signature campaign continues to receive a resounding response throughout TN, and our online signature campaign via puthiyakalvi.in garnered over 2 lakh supporters in just 36 hours. In a post on X, Annamalai stated, “As the TN CM, you appear clearly shaken, and your tirades against the signature campaign mean nothing to us.”

Despite being in power, Annamalai accused the Stalin-led DMK of not executing a successful signature drive. “You couldn’t launch a signature drive against NEET even though you were in power, and keep in mind that your cadres had to dispose of the pamphlets in the trash after they realized their proper place. Stop using your paper to criticize the naive Hindi imposition, Thiru MK Stalin. You’ve already been exposed for your phony Hindi imposition drama. That you haven’t realized it yet is regrettable,” he continued.

Stalin’s LKG remark

Stalin’s aforementioned comments were directly addressed by Annamalai in a post on X on Friday, where he derided the BJP’s campaign as a “circus.” Stalin called the new education policy’s (NEP) three-language rule a referendum on the imposition of Hindi and challenged the BJP to make it a major issue in the 2026 Assembly elections in his post on X.

The irony lies in the fact that Tamil Nadu, which opposes the NEP, has already accomplished a number of its objectives, which the policy only hopes to accomplish by 2030. This is comparable to a PhD holder being lectured by a LKG student. Dravidam refuses to follow orders from Delhi. Rather, it establishes the path for the country to take,” Stalin stated in the post.

“Tamil Nadu is now laughing at the BJP’s circus-style signature campaign for the three-language formula. In the 2026 Assembly elections, I challenge them to make this their top priority and allow it to be a referendum on the imposition of Hindi. History is obvious. The individuals who attempted to force Hindi on Tamil Nadu were either defeated or later shifted their positions and joined the DMK. Stalin wrote, “Hindi colonialism will not be allowed to replace British colonialism in Tamil Nadu.”
