Muskan
His wife Muskan and her lover Sahil are accused of walking the streets with his severed head and palm in a bag after killing Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Gupta.
The woman arrested for the gruesome killing of her husband, a former Merchant Navy officer, in Meerut, harboured aspirations of becoming a movie star since childhood, the victim’s brother has revealed.
Police say Muskaan Rastogi and her lover Sahil Shukla admitted to killing Saurabh Gupta on March 4 by stabbing him. His remains were then chopped up by the two, placed inside a drum, and sealed with cement. The two were placed under 14 days of judicial custody on Wednesday after being arrested on Tuesday.
The victim’s brother claimed that Muskan’s desire to become a movie star had previously caused her to flee her home, resulting in a divorce case and domestic conflicts, according to a report in News18 Hindi.
According to police sources cited in the report, the woman who was once thought to be Muskaan’s mother and has been calling for the accused couple to be executed is actually her stepmother.
According to reports from police investigations, Muskan and Sahil were observed walking the streets with Saurabh’s severed head and palm in a bag after the murder. Muskan allegedly purchased a knife and a drum from the market during this period. In order to obtain more proof for a harsh penalty, the police are also interrogating the people who sold the knife and drum.
It has also been revealed that Saurabh filed for divorce after learning of his wife’s adultery in 2021.
Additionally, a video of Saurabh, Muskaan, and their daughter dancing from a few days prior to the murder has come to light.
Saurabh’s remains were reportedly dismembered and kept in a cement-filled drum. According to the shopkeeper who sold Muskan the drum, a woman paid Rs 1,100 for it without haggling.
Saurabh was allegedly drugged by Muskaan prior to the murder, and the medical store attested to the drugs’ sale. However, it has been reported that the shopkeeper who sold the murder weapon is unsure if it was purchased from his store.
Saurabh’s family, meanwhile, contests Muskan’s parents’ denial of knowledge about the incident. Muskan’s mother knew about the crime beforehand and went to the police station to avoid legal repercussions, according to Saurabh’s mother, Renu Devi, who claimed that Muskan’s parents were deceiving the police.
Furthermore, according to Renu Devi, Saurabh’s mother, her son’s six-year-old daughter knew about his passing. Renu Devi stated, “That is the reason why she (Saurabh’s daughter) was saying, ‘Papa is in the drum,’ as we have learned from some people.”
Police rejected this allegation, stating that the girl may have been aware of it following the lewd incident.
Muskan may have had the girl present when he was recounting the incident to the family members. According to a quote from SP City Ayush Vikram Singh, the girl was unaware of this beforehand.

Muskan Case
Police sources claim that Muskan told her family about the murder on March 18 and that they then brought her to the police station. A case was then filed, the body was found, and Sahil and Muskan were taken into custody.
The authorities claim that Muskan had been plotting Saurabh’s murder since November 2023. By making a phony Snapchat ID and pretending to be Sahil’s late mother, Muskan took advantage of Sahil’s superstitions, they added.
Muskaan used this fictitious ID to persuade Sahil that his deceased mother had ordered Saurabh’s murder; this allegation is presently being looked into further.
After the murder, Muskan reportedly looked for a remote location to bury Saurabh’s body. Saurabh had bought knives pretending to cut chicken and obtained sedatives before her February return from London.
Since they had not been in regular contact for the previous two years, police said Muskan assumed Saurabh’s family would not look for him after his murder. According to the police officer, Saurabh’s family had not spoken to him in the previous two years because they were upset about his marriage to Muskan, so she assumed his absence would go unnoticed.
