Following India’s Operation Sindoor attacks on nine terror locations in Pakistan, Spicejet and other airlines posted a flight advisory for multiple airports
Following India’s Operation Sindoor attacks on nine terror locations in Pakistan, Spicejet and other carriers released a flight advisory for a number of airports in the northern region of India. Air India and Indigo stated that flights will be affected, again advising travelers to check for updates prior to travel.
In posts on X, platform previously known as Twitter, the airlines added that airports in Dharamshala, Leh, Jammu, Srinagar and Amritsar would remain shut until further notice, adding that departures, arrivals and consequential flights would also be affected.
“Given the current situation, Air India has suspended all its flights to and from the below stations – Jammu, Srinagar, Leh, Jodhpur, Amritsar, Bhuj, Jamnagar, Chandigarh and Rajkot – up to 12 noon on 7 May, subject to further instructions from the authorities. Two international flights heading to Amritsar are being diverted to Delhi. We apologize for the inconvenience caused due to this sudden disruption,” Air India tweeted.
Indigo Airlines, too, had issued a flight advisory. On social media, it stated that flights from and to Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Leh, Chandigarh and Dharamshala would be affected. Additionally, flights from and to Bikaner would also be affected as a result of existing airspace restrictions.
“Update: Flights from/to #Bikaner are also affected due to the ongoing airspace restrictions. We urge you to check your flight status prior to arriving at the airport,” said the latest update.
